“We asked industry practitioners to rate the leading software solution providers to the investment management community” announced Paul Wiltshire – Managing Director of CityIQ.  

“Representatives of over fifty City based institutions have already done so and their views give a unique and highly valuable insight into how the industry views its software suppliers”.  

Interim findings show that: 

Only five of the vendors on the list had a majority of survey respondents who were likely to recommend them. Indeed one company had nearly 80% of respondents saying they would not recommend!  

There are wide variations between the best and worst rated vendors. The best performing supplier has 88% of respondents agreeing that they provided high quality software, the worst performers have less than 50% who held a positive view.  

Equally revealing was the variation in how vendors scored under the different category headings. “One vendor” remarked Wiltshire, “Scored in the top quartile on eleven of the twelve key criteria in the survey. They were bottom of the table for professionalism”   

Added Wiltshire: “Obviously some of the vendors are well regarded and their performance will be recognised when we announce the full results. Others however have work to do if they want to maintain their market share and improve their reputation.”
